On this Teacher’s Day let’s venture into a new dome of learning (5th Sept – 5th Oct 13) Teachers Day is not yet another day to commemorate and recognize our teachers; indeed it is a day to recall how much of hard work and time goes in, before a teacher walks into that classroom and teaches you that chapter which does turn into a revolving stage and a turning point in your life. It is a day for expressing appreciation towards the person who has patiently heard you out when you asked the same question a hundred times. It is also a day to thank that individual who guided you in matters more than academics. This human being can be any person who has contributed or given a learning that you recollect and cherish forever. A person like this truly deserves a day reserved for him and what better a day to bestow recognition than the birth anniversary of Dr. S Radhakrishnan who lived for his passion towards education. Aide et Action intends to rejoice this spirit of education and learning through a month long celebration beginning with Teachers Day on September 5 to October 5 which happens to be celebrated world-wide as the International teachers Day where people from all walks of life felicitates the work of teachers and their contributions to society. Our teachers have guided us as pole star, loved us, scolded us, and cried when we scored well and they never forget us and there are individuals, first being the mother whose contribution is immeasurable where she inculcates the true values and ways of life. Hence Aide et Action through its biggest programme iLEAD will commence the month long celebration on this 125th anniversary of Dr. S Radhakrishnan by asking 1,25,000 youth to make at least one phone call or make an extra effort to call those teachers and mentors and thank them for the light house they have been in their life. The month long activities across iLEAD will host number of activities to acknowledge the contribution of our mentors towards the society and nation building. The activities will range from letters of appreciation to teachers, debates and workshops emphasising the importance of teachers and learning, poster, poetry, debate competition and theater revolving around teacher’s role in nation building. The highlight of the month long celebration will be to explore and discover the dying art forms and the artists from across the nation who lost their imprints in the course of development and competition. iLEAD will recognise these artists and art forms and will provide them the platform to share about their work at iLEAD centres and give them facility to showcase their work through iLEAD creations. Learning the unlearnt will be an effort to amplify the importance of those learnings and teachings which if not recognised now, will become history. Honouring such individuals is an idea to make them feel special. iLEAD will also leverage support from search engines like Just Dial, Get-it, OLX, Quikr etc. on the cross promotional branding tie up for selected profiles

iLEAD celebrates the true spirit of Independence August means the month of Independence and Independence is not limited to the feeling of freedom from some nation but also to realize the value of living independently in its truest sense. This independence includes the celebration of festivals with our families, by living in clean and green environment, by having fearless sleeps etc. which is possible only because of the soldiers who are awake at the border, who are away from their families to ensure that we are with our families, the traffic policemen who stand in the polluted environment to ensure our safety on roads, the firemen who keep himself alert and play with danger to give us the gift of a safe life, the front runners of medical emergency unit whose every minute ensures us years of healthy life and also the sanitation worker who daily gets into garbage to ensure us a hygienic & disease free life. Aide-et-Action’s program Initiative for Livelihood Education and Development (iLEAD) is organizing a week-long celebration in iLEAD centers across India. It is to acknowledge, appreciate, felicitate and share the togetherness with the real heroes of our society. The activities will start from 15th August commemorating the nation’s Independence day and will end on 20th August. So let’s rise together to express solidarity towards our firemen, policemen, sanitation workers, medical emergency teams and many more who makes us feel independent.
